Why should we support education in Malawi?
Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world, with one of the lowest educational attainment rates. This is because few Malawians can afford the secondary school fees resulting in only 15% of Malawians completing a secondary school education (World Bank). This rate is halved for girls, and is a significant contributing factor to Malawi having one of the highest teenage marriage rates globally.
